A new SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse image arrives, revealing a heartwarming reunion between Miles and Spider-Gwen.
Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales reunite in a sweet new image for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, continuing their team-up from the first installment. One of the most successful animated films in recent years was Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, as it brought the iconic comic book concept to the big screen. While introducing Miles, the teenage hero who continues Peter Parker's legacy, the film also establishes the idea of Spider-doppelgangers from various universes.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY While Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is still several months away from opening, Sony Pictures has revealed a brand-new image from the upcoming sequel. The image sees Spider-Gwen and Miles coming together in a sweet reunion. It's unclear from where in the movie the image takes place, but it sees the two young heroes sharing a touching moment overlooking the city.
While there are likely going to be some surprises, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has at least three new Spider-heroes coming into the franchise. Issa Rae will be voicing Jessica Drew, better known as Spider-Woman, which will be the first time she is on the big screen. Daniel Kaluuya will be playing Hobart "Hobie" Brown, better known to comic fans as Spider-Punk. Lastly, Takuya Yamashiro, the Japanese Spider-Man, is appearing in the sequel.
Even though things have slowed down for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man, it's still great to see how Sony is continuing to build out their other Spider-Man property, especially after how successful the first Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film was for them. With Miles gaining more traction in media, his franchise is also allowing other characters from the Spider-Verse to get their due in media.
