A St. George man who was in a “mutually intimate relationship” with a woman and her husband is dead and the husband is in jail after a shooting over the weekend.
The 30-year-old suspect called police just before 7:30 a.m.on Saturday and said that he had shot someone. When officers arrived at his home, near 800 South and Dixie Drive, they found Ryan Allen, 37, dead inside.
According to a probable cause statement, the victim’s body was in the main bathroom, and he had suffered “several traumatic injuries.” Several bullet casings were found in or near the bathroom, according to police. When questioned by police, the suspect said he heard his wife and Allen arguing in the bathroom, and that he “believed Ryan to be suicidal and armed with a gun.”
The suspect told police he got his own gun from a bedroom closet, made sure it was loaded, and walked through the bedroom into the bathroom where his wife and the victim were arguing. He said he had “determined that he was going to kill Ryan.” According to police, the suspect said he was unsure how many shots he fired, but that he “continued to fire until Ryan stopped moving.”The suspect was booked into the Washington County jail for investigation of murder and weapons charges. His bail was set at $1 million.
