You probably won’t find an actual pot of gold on St. Patrick’s Day — but you can pick up free glazed doughnuts, $2 Irish creme-flavored iced coffee and half-priced green smoothies.
While Americans are expected to spend almost $7 billion while celebrating all things Irish this March 17, plenty of national chains and local shops will be doling out discounts to celebrate the holiday. KRISPY KREME This pastry chain DNUT is no stranger to giving away glazed doughnuts So for St. Patrick’s Day, any customers who come in wearing green can get a free original glazed doughnut, no purchase necessary. If you do want to spend a little dough, however, there’s also some limited-time treats like the “Golden Cookies & Kreme Doughnut,” the “Hat O’Gold Doughnut,” the “Golden Sprinkle Doughnut” and the “Rainbow Kreme Filled Doughnut.
BAKED BY MELISSA The national sweets shop is whipping up St. Patrick’s Day-themed mini cupcakes through March 21, including the “Lucky Charm” — featuring green vanilla cake stuffed with brownie batter and topped with icing and gold brittle. There’s also “Rainbow Cookie” and “Triple Chocolate Fudge” varieties. And you can get 10% off the Shamrock Shuffle 50-pack and the Lucky Us 100-pack when you use the LUCKY10 promo code.
APPLEBEE’S But it’s happy hour all day at Applebee’s on St. Paddy’s Day, as the restaurant has brought back its $6 “Saintly Sips” for the holiday. These include the “Tipsy Leprechaun,” described as a “top shelf tea” mixed from Jameson Irish whiskey, melon liqueur, blue curaçao, premium lemon sour and lemon lime soda with a rainbow sugar rim. Or there’s the “Pot O’ Gold Colada,” which is a take on the piña colada featuring Captain Morgan’s spiced rum and mango.
