Standoff at Vista home ends when suspect not found inside [Breaking]
An hours-long standoff at a Vista home ended Sunday night when deputies entered the residence but the suspect wasn’t inside, officials said.
Deputies had set up a perimeter around the home on West Indian Rock Road near North Santa Fe Avenue Sunday afternoon after getting a report that a man had assaulted another man in a 7-Eleven store earlier in the day.when a man and a woman were arguing inside the convenience store and a bystander tried to intervene, sheriff’s Lt. Mike Krugh said Sunday. The bystander was assaulted by the man and called for help, Krugh said.
Deputies tracked the man to the home, set up a perimeter and called for the SWAT team when the man didn’t come outside as directed. At some point during the evening, deputies went into the home but the man wasn’t inside. The operation ended around 9:20 p.m., said sheriff’s Lt. Aaron Meleen.
