Jamie Quinn's pension had been forfeited after she was convicted of tampering with evidence.

SUNBURY – A Commonwealth Court panel has restored the pension of a Sunbury police officer fired for allowing her son to use her work cell phone for 45 days in 2016 after the boy’s father had taken his.

If there was not a nexus in this case there never will be, Sunbury Solicitor Joel Wiest said. City Council has the option of asking the Supreme Court to accept an appeal, he explained. “Furthermore, her son’s use of the department-issued phone was completely unrelated to any of Quinn’s official duties or responsibilities.”Quinn gave her department-issued phone to her son, who was 17 at the time, in October 2016 for his personal use so she would be able to stay in touch with him.

The girl stopped communicating with that boy who retaliated by resending the photo to other individuals. On Dec. 1, 2016, state police sent a trooper to Line Mountain High School to speak with the revenge porn victim and other juveniles including Quinn’s son.During that conversation Quinn told the trooper the phone was police property, the topless photo had been on it for approximately two days and she would get in trouble if the device was seized that day.
