Cinco Ranch freshman Nevada Daniels is one of Houston area's first-time state qualifiers competing Friday at the Berry Center.Morton Ranch senior Jaylin Uresti wrestled his first match as a junior. Little more than a year later, Uresti is headed to his first University Interscholastic League state tournament as a Region III-6A champion.from 52 schools in Class 5A and 6A, beginning Friday at the Berry Center.
He won District 9-6A this year and added four more victories at the regional meet, bringing his senior record to 37-2. Cy Ranch will have one of the Houston area's largest contingents at the Berry Center, sending nine, including seven from theirJunior Mariana Bozo earned one of the Mustangs' four individual championships, improving to 45-4 for the season.
The District 10-6A champion has at least six tournament gold medals this season and has made notable progress since her sophomore year.
