Anyone living in two townships in Ohio may be eligible to participate in a program that would give them $300 every month.
The program, titled YS EQUITY, gives $300 to selected recipients on a monthly basis over the course of two years. It will give recipients a total of $7,200.The first wave of recipients for this program was selected in December. There are plans to add more recipients later this year, YS EQUITY's program manager told the Washington Examiner.
"This first cohort is for 24 months," Angie Hsu, the program manager, said."We hope the program can continue in perpetuity if we reach our endowment fundraising goals." The first wave of this payment was already issued to recipients on Jan. 13. Future recipients will get paid on the first of every month. Additionally, applications for this program will be reopened in May in the hopes of adding another 15 recipients — that would bring the program's total number of recipients to 30.
To be eligible for this program, an applicant must be at least 18 years old and a resident of either Yellow Springs or Miami Township in the state of Ohio. An applicant must also not exceed a level of household income depending on the number of people living in their household; a household of one person must not make more than $40,770 annually, with the income limit increasing by $14,160 for every additional person in the household, according to the program's website.
Additional information regarding this program can be found by either emailing [email protected] or by calling 767-2655.
