Shares in ViaSat Inc. VSAT, +7.49% surged 17% in premarket trading after the high-speed broadband provider said it would continue operating without replacing a satellite that malfunctioned in July.
Dollar General Corp. shares DG, -1.77% rallied 7% after the dollar-store chain said that Todd Vasos was returning as chief executive after retiring less than a year ago. Wells Fargo & Co. WFC, +0.13% stock rose 1.6% in premarket trading after the Wall Street bank reported forecast-beating third-quarter earnings.
Shares in UnitedHealth Group Inc. UNH, +0.27% increased by 1% after the healthcare-services and insurance giant reported better-than-forecast results and lifted full-year guidance.Shares of Cassava Sciences Inc. SAVA, -4.83% plunged 29% after the journal Science reported an investigation accusing a researcher, who collaborated with the company, of “longstanding and egregious misconduct.”
JD.com Inc. JD, -8.27% shares dropped 4% after analysts at Citigroup and Jefferies trimmed revenue expectations and price targets for the Chinese e-commerce giant, whose earnings they expect to reflect consumer struggles when it reports around mid-November.
