The woman, who is expected to survive, was hit as she sat in the back seat of a car, and 89 people have been injured by guns in Houston since January 1, 2023.
HPD Lieutenant Ignacio Izaguirre said law enforcement at the scene requested more units after they saw muzzle flashes from different locations spanning from Richmond Avenue to Beverly Hills.
The woman who was shot was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for the gunshot wound to her mouth. She is expected to survive, Izaguirre told the network., and no arrests or charges had been made as of Sunday evening.,"more than seven out of every 10 medically treated firearm injuries are from firearm-related assaults."
