Even with new nurses entering the workforce and coming from other states, the study predicts a decline in total nurses in Alabama every year through 2027.
“We’re all consumers of healthcare and nurses are the largest group of providers of healthcare, and that would increase wait times and access to care.” Return to Nursing will offer less intensive jobs and schedules for older more experienced nurses to mentor the newer nurses and keep them in Alabama hospitals.Lianna Zhou, a pre-med student in Birmingham, said “Without nurses hospitals can’t function.”
