The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting involving a deputy and an officer Sunday morning that left one male suspect dead. No officers were injured
According to the sheriff’s office, law enforcement responded to the area of Idlewild Drive at Summit Drive on a report of an armed male wandering around in the neighborhood waving a firearm and banging on doors.
Law enforcement rendered immediate medical aid after the shooting but was unable to revive him. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name and age have not been released. The 5th Judicial District Attorney's Office will conduct a criminal investigation, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has been requested to conduct an internal investigation, the press release states.
