The marketing campaign for Illumination and Nintendo's highly-anticipated 2023 film has confirmed the appearances of many familiar characters. Chris Pratt's Mario is at the forefront of the movie, but everyone from Princess Peach, Bowser, Donkey Kong, and Luigi have been featured in The Super Mario Bros. Movie trailers to this point.

This now seemingly included the appearance of Lumas from Super Mario Galaxy. As highlighted in a tweet from Nintendo Merch Central, new McDonald's Happy Meal toys promoting The Super Mario Bros.
The Lumas are star-like creatures that hold various powers depending on their color. The blue Luma in The Super Mario Bros. Movie toy can transform into a Pull Star, allowing Mario to be pulled towards it. Yellow Lumas are the most common, so it should be expected now that some of them could be in the movie as well.
As for what role Rosalina could play in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, that is a bit more unclear. The Lumas can become Power Stars, much like the ones Bowser is after in the movie, so it is possible his conquests take him to space and the Comet Observatory as well. There is also the chance that Rosalina's appearance in The Super Mario Bros. Movie is saved for the very end so she can play a role in setting up a potential sequel.
