A look at the most notable performances in the pool from the weekend’s CIF Southern Section swimming championships in Riverside.
Support our high school sports coverage by becoming a digital subscriber.The CIF Southern Section boys and girls swimming and diving championships were held at the Riverside Aquatic Complex last week, culminating in an eventful Friday and Saturday that included a number of local athletes and programs being crowned CIF champions.
Hart junior Lily Dormans won the girls 500 freestyle in 4 minutes, 50.08 seconds. Dormans was close to being a four-time CIF champion this year after finishing the runner-up in three other events – the 200 freestyle , the 200 medley relay , and the 400 freestyle relay . Dorman’s teammate, sophomore Aly Yokoyama, finished second in the 100 backstroke .
