The National Weather Service forecast a low risk level for swimming at Chicago’s beaches Monday morning.

Those visiting the city’s public beaches on Monday, the unofficial start of the summer season, can expect mostly sunny skies, windy conditions and air temperatures around 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Lake Michigan’s water is between 52 and 56 degrees with waves of 1 to 3 feet.The National Weather Service forecast a low risk level for swimming at Chicago’s beaches Monday morning, with the Chicago Park District permitting swimming at all 22 of its beaches.
Along the lakeshore in north suburban Lake County, the weather service forecast moderate swimming conditions for Monday with southerly winds and waves of 2 to 4 feet. Currents and breaking waves are expected.
