Sydney Sweeney landed her Once Upon A Time In Hollywood role partly because of a mock letter she wrote to Charles Manson himself.

Breakout Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney reveals how she nailed the "extra-credit" element of Quentin Tarantino's casting for the director's 2019 film. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood marked Tarantino's tenth feature release, though the director himself still considers it only his ninth.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Despite this small role, Sweeney proved her ability to commit and immerse herself in the character of Snake by writing an in-character letter to Charles Manson as "extra credit" for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood's audition process. During an interview with British GQ, Sweeney reflects on her fond memories from the set of the film and being able to work beside an acclaimed director like Tarantino.

For the audition process, for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Quentin in casting said that you could do extra credit. A different scene or a monologue. I ended up writing a letter, in character, to Manson. Yeah [laughs]. I actually spent my twenty-first birthday on that set, which is really really cool. That will definitely go down in history for me.Sweeney Isn't The Only Breakout Member Of OUATIH's Manson Family Cast Overall, 2019 through 2021 were incredible years for Sweeney.

While Sweeny's behind-the-scenes work may have helped her stand out, she also wasn't the only Once Upon A Time In Hollywood breakout star to see vast career opportunities open up following the film's release. Several other stars, most of which also occupied roles of Manson family members, have continued to see their popularity skyrocket since the Tarantino project.

Additionally, after appearing in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood as Flower Child, Maya Hawke quickly became a fan-favorite character in Stranger Things as the endearingly clumsy Robin. A further role in Jennifer Kaytin Robinson's Do Revenge continued to emphasize her comedic timing, while appearances in Netflix's Fear Street have suggested Hawke's potential as a bit of a scream queen.
