We took a tour of the facility where Verano, New Jersey’s top-selling cannabis brand. Take a look inside.
Recently, NJ.com went on an exclusive, all-access tour of Verano’s 120,000-square-foot cultivation and production facility in Central Jersey. We got an opportunity to check out the grow rooms, lab, kitchen and packaging areas.’s COO, Trip McDermott, walked us through each area and explained the production process from clone-to-sale. We saw thousands of plants at different stages of life as he explained the characteristics of plants in each of those stages.
The sheer scale of the operation was the most surprising aspect, as we spent a couple of hours moving through the remodeled Walmart Supercenter. As New Jersey’s top-selling cannabis brand, they do perpetual harvests, and hundreds of products are constantly in the works to be grown, fabricated, packaged and delivered.
The main event of the tour was visiting the kitchen where their Encore brand edibles are made and packaged. We got to witness them loading caramel into machinery to be piped evenly into molds, dusted with a special coffee blend and individually wrapped after they are set. In another room three times the size of the kitchen, they showed us the super-sized machines that weigh and portion buds for jarring and bagging. They also utilize machinery to fill and seal cones for the Swift Lift pre-rolls.
