Telecom Italia Chairman Fulvio Conti said on Sept. 12 that he was considering resigning amid ongoing conflict between two of the Italian group’s biggest shareholders.
Vivendi, controlled by French billionaire Vincent Bolloré, is Telecom Italia’s largest shareholder with a 24% stake. Elliott Management and state investor Cassa Depositi e Prestiti each hold just under 10%, according to Refinitiv. Conti was appointed last year as a nominee of Elliott. In March, Vivendi abandoned a plan to throw five of the hedge fund’s nominees off Telecom Italia’s board.
