A Texas state representative has introduced legislation to keep Title 42 in place at the state level until federal emergencies and mandates related to COVID are ended.

The Biden administration sought to end the order last year, but was blocked by a federal judge in response to a GOP lawsuit. It has since faced a different lawsuit calling for the expulsions to stop, saying the order is unlawful.
