Texas GovAbbott has approved a plan to disrupt Rio Grande crossings from Mexico to his state by illegal immigrants using a system navy’s deploy to protect warships. The plan uses a 1,000-foot 'marine floating barrier' to block key sections of the river.

The system is made by Cochrane. On its website, Cochrane shows similar systems that are armed with barbs. Bensman said the one eyed by Abbott will not be barbed.
