HOUSTON — A 53-year-old Houston woman’s life was spared when a robber’s gun jammed as he tried to shoot her—giving her an open window to return fire, police say.Turner’s son told KHOU11Turner had been serving soul food from Elite Eats, her family’s food truck, with her brother in southwest Houston Tuesday afternoon in a parking lot off South Main Street just inside Beltway 8 in Houston, according to KHOU11.
That’s when a 23-year-old man pulled up beside it and asked what food the truck serves, according to Houston Police Department Lieutenant Bryan Bui.Turner closed the window to the food truck, but the man forced it back open and put his arm inside while pointing his gun at her, according to Bui.Turner drew her gun and shot the man several times, who collapsed around 50 feet away and died at the scene, Bui said.
