Texas native Shane Duffy is a co-host of HGTV's"Build it Forward" show, now in its second season."That's when I started my business, Hott and Handy. It was male models who remodel. It's a funny story, and for a while, I didn't tell it because it pigeonholed me," he said, laughing about it now.

It was"Build It Forward," which he co-hosts with longtime HGTV personality Taniya Nayak. This season takes them to Tulsa, Denver, Charlotte, Washington, D.C., and Ontario, Calif., where they work on projects for a community nonprofits and then also finish a renovation at the home of someone connected to that nonprofit.

From October 2022 through May 2023, they taped the shows while traveling the country, getting footage early in the project, again midway through and then for a finale and big reveal. Both Duffy and Nayak do hands-on work while they're there, but the bulk of the work is done by a local contractor on the job throughout the process.
