Acknowledging their disappointing results, state party leaders released a statement promising not to give up. “Tonight is a victory, an honor,” Christian, who heads the three-member panel that regulates the state’s powerful oil and gas industry, told the crowd. “But when we get up tomorrow, it’s time to really go to the war, the battle. We need to take this state back, this nation back.”
