Texas was seeded 13th in the NCAA softball tournament and will host some familiar competition.

In addition to Texas, Texas A&M and Texas State will play in the Austin regional along with Seton Hall. Two other state schools also made the tournament. Prairie View will play at No. 10 seed LSU in Baton Rouge, and Baylor is at the Salt Lake City regional and will open with Mississippi. Texas, which advanced to the final series of the World Series last season, will open against Seton Hall on Friday at 4 p.m. Texas A&M and Texas State play at 6:30 p.m. in the second game of the double-elimination regional. The championship game is Sunday.

The winner of the Austin regional will face the winner of the Knoxville regional with a spot in the World Series at stake.
