Giants begin countdown to significant offseason, now without a general manager
Thairo Estrada and David Villar got the big hits in the Giants’ extra-inning win over the Colorado Rockies on Monday night.Estrada’s three-run home run in the 10th inning secured the Giants 10-7 comeback win on Monday night. His double also began the ninth inning rally, the Giants down two runs, to set up Wilmer Flores’ RBI single.

But each is another step closer to one of the organization’s most important offseasons of the last decade. Where a proud organization will hope to salvage some spirit and find the next group of players that can take them to the postseason — and maybe get some butts in seats, too.
Mike Yastrzemski snapped an 0-for-13 skid with a solo home run to dead center field to cut the Rockies’ deficit to 4-2 in the fourth inning. After his worst year as a Giant, is Yastrzemski’s future in flux? The Giants have 9 players, including Yastrzemski, that are arbitration eligible. Do hints from Zaidi at a roster shuffle mean some of those players be non-tendered?
