Thanos vs Super-Skrull: who's more powerful?
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT A new powerhouse just hit the scene in the MCU in the form of the Super-Skrulls - Skrulls with superhuman abilities mimicking those of established heroes/villains - which might lead many to wonder how this new threat would fair against the previous ‘big-bad’ of the cinematic universe, Thanos. Well, as it turns out, Marvel Comics already answered that question years ago, and the verdict might be disappointing to some viewers.
The first Super-Skrull in Marvel Comics history is named Kl’rt, who took on the abilities of all four members of the Fantastic Four at once. Kl’rt was strong enough to challenge the entire team, and would remain a mainstay within Marvel Comics canon for years after his introduction. In fact, Kl’rt would go on to challenge many other classic Marvel characters in battle aside from the Fantastic Four, all while using the heroes’ iconic abilities to do so.
Thanos Is Far Stronger Than The Super-Skrull, Maintaining His MCU Superiority In Secret Defenders #12 by Ron Marz and Tom Grinddberg, Thanos is recruiting a number of supervillains to help him kidnap the oracle of an alien monastery, promising them wealth and riches beyond their wildest dreams if they help him. One of the villains Thanos tries to recruit is Kl’rt, but once the Mad Titan teleports the Super-Skrull to his ship, things get out of hand quickly.
Super-Skrull was K.O.’d by Thanos within mere moments of attacking him, and Thanos walked away from the fight without breaking a sweat. While it is true that Kl’rt exhibits a different range of powers than the Super-Skrulls in the MCU, this comic does serve to remind fans of the true hierarchy of Marvel villains.
Super-Skrulls are nothing to Thanos, no matter how powerful the MCU has made them seem within the current canon, which is something that was made painfully obvious to both Kl’rt in this issue of Secret Defenders, and fans of the MCU.
