The BAFTAs were apparently no laughing matter for Kate Middleton and Prince William.
"The feedback is that many of the stars stepped out of line in front of the patron, which is the Duke of Cambridge," said Fox News' Neil Sean. Rebel Wilson seemed to be the star who drew the most ire. During her hilarious monologue, she made a quick joke at Prince Andrew's expense.
"It is really great to be here at the Royal Andrew...uh, Royal Harry, no, at this royal palace place." It's clear that from the video Kate and William have smiles on their faces, but they still seem a bit tense. The concerning thing about the glances you see of them in the clip, however, is that apparently these were not their actual expressions after the jokes flew past. Their smiles were likely edited in from another part of the show, according to Sean's sources.
"This was not met with the smiling faces that you saw on the final edited version of the show," Sean said of Wilson's jokes. "A mole also told me that to ensure that the royals are not embarrassed or made fun of again at such a prestigious event like this one...they will have a ‘moral clause’ inserted into their acceptance agreement ensuring that due reverence is given to the royal couple who gave their time and support to such a wonderful celebration of film and is respected.
