What's on the black boxes from Ethiopian flight 302—and what investigators will look for:
Share to twitterThis photo provided by by the French air accident investigation authority BEA on Thursday, March 14, 2019, shows one of the black box flight recorders from the crashed Ethiopian Airlines jet The Flight Data Recorder and Cockpit Voice Recorder from Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302, known commonly as the"black boxes," have arrived in Paris to be analyzed by BEA, the French aviation accident investigation agency, at the request of Ethiopian authorities.
Investigators must keep an open mind and evaluate all evidence. However, given the scrutiny on the similarities between the Ethiopian crash and the Lion Air 737 MAX crash in Indonesia last October, coupled with the initial indications of a flight control problem in the Ethiopian Airlines crash, investigators will likely be looking at certain parameters associated with the Lion Air crash.
