There also is the fear of being alone. It has driven some of us into isolation. And just when it seemed safe to go out and have some sense of normalcy, the virus is back.“You hear of deaths, of rising cases of the virus, political fights and people feeling like something is very broken,” saidAs we head into the new year, James is so right. There is a sense things are broken.Father Tom Haren mentioned having several funerals in the last few months for people under 50.
Today’s talking heads screaming “IT’S NEVER BEEN THIS BAD” on various political shows have historic amnesia. It is bad now, but it’s been worse. Heading into the new year, keep in mind we are in a spiritual and emotional battle – not just a medical and political one. Haren said what we’ve been through lately has been “diabolical and even evil.” He means more than the physical challenges, but how the last two years have worn down so many of us emotionally.
