And, this month, I'm evangelizing for the frozen margarita, the often-maligned drink you may hazily remember being served out of a giant machine with a hypnotically rotating paddle that sat atop the bar you mistakenly stumbled into a few decades ago. Good news: the homemade version is less cloyingly sweet than that one and much, much more delicious.
And, in the spirit of mixing things up, this House Cocktail version of the classic drink has a twist. It combines frozen raspberries——and fresh ginger, which makes for a beautiful color and a taste that's a balance between sweet-tart and ever so slightly spicy. Making your own perfectly balanced frozen margarita at home is dead simple: Combine frozen raspberries, your favorite tequila, lime juice, agave, finely grated fresh ginger, and two cups of ice in a blender and combine until smooth.
