The Idol star Da'Vine Joy Randolph has given an update on whether or not HBO is open to making The Idol Season 2.
, Randolph spoke about the show’s mixed reception and the narrative threads that have been set up throughout the first season. The actress noted that making a second season is “everyone’s intention.”
“Oh yeah, for sure. I think that everyone’s intention is to have a second season,” Randolph stated. “This was never intended to be a limited series. HBO has been very happy with it — so much so that there were rumors that we were canceled, and then HBO went on Twitter, which I think they rarely do. Nothing is official, but HBO is quite happy.
The Idol stars Lily-Rose Depp as Jocelyn, a rising pop star looking to regain the fame she lost after canceling her previous tour. Amid her comeback, Jocelyn meets Tedros , a mysterious figure who quickly infiltrates her life, romantically and creatively.
