The Mandalorian season 3 directors will include Oscar-nominated Lee Isaac Chung, Black Panther's director of photography Rachel Morrison, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘s Peter Ramsey along with others.

The Mandalorian season 3 has added several new high-profile directors. It's been over two years since The Mandalorian season 2 aired and almost a full year since Din Djarin and Grogu reunited in The Book of Boba Fett. Now, the Disney+ Star Wars show is gearing up for the premiere of its highly-anticipated third season, which is expected to expand the scope and scale of the series as Din Djarin and Grogu head to new planets, such as Mandalore.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In addition to releasing a new The Mandalorian season 3 trailer, Lucasfilm has also announced several new directors for the upcoming episodes, per The Hollywood Reporter. The lineup of newcomers is headlined by the Oscar-nominated Lee Isaac Chung and also includes Black Panther's director of photography Rachel Morrison and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘s Peter Ramsey. It's unknown which directors will be helming which episodes.

The lineup of new directors also includes Black Panther DP Rachel Morrison, whose work on the 2017 film Mudbound made her the first woman ever to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Cinematography. Peter Ramsey was one of the three directors behind the Oscar-winning animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. In Chung, Morrison, and Ramsey, The Mandalorian season 3 has recruited some rather high-profile directors for perhaps the show's most anticipated episodes yet.

In addition to the aforementioned newcomers, The Mandalorian season 3 will also see Rick Famuyiwa and Bryce Dallas Howard returning to the director's chair, the latter credited with directing some of the best episodes of the Star Wars show and its spinoff, The Book of Boba Fett. Carl Weathers, who plays Greef Karga on the show and previously directed "Chapter 12: The Siege," is also back behind the camera.
