What Happened To Luke Cage In The Netflix TV Series? Born Carl Lucas, Luke Cage was wrongfully convicted for a crime he didn’t commit and was sent to Seagate Prison. There, he met therapist Reva Connors and fell in love with her, but he was also attacked by Albert Rackham, after which he was subjected to experiments by Noah Bursten that gave him superhuman strength and unbreakable skin.
Luke Cage was blamed for Cottonmouth’s death, forcing him to go on the run as the NYCPD and his former friend Willis Stryker went after him, with the latter betraying him by attempting to kill him. Luke eventually defeated Stryker and cleared his name, but he was arrested to continue his original sentence – luckily, he was released early by Foggy Nelson.
