, Megan recalled the night Lanez — with whom she occasionally had a sexual relationship, she said — allegedly shot her after the pair drove back from a party at Kylie Jenner’s house.She said Lanez was upset about being asked to leave the event, and also told Megan she had to “stop lying” about their relationship to her friend Kelsey Harris, who was also in the car at the time.
Asked why she didn’t immediately go to the police, the “Body” hitmaker said the incident happening “at the height of police brutality” in the wake of the George Floyd and Breonna Taylor killings, adding that she didn’t feel comfortable speaking to the LAPD. Even two years later, Megan expressed regret for coming forward about the incident, telling the court, “I wish he would’ve just shot and killed me if I knew I was going to have to go through this torture.”
