, The Nun II premiered in theaters on September 8, 2023, and went on to make $257.6 million at the worldwide box office.“1956 – France,” the official synopsis reads. “A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face-to-face with Valak, the demon nun.
The Nun II’s screenplay comes from Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and Amelia Cooper, with the story by Cooper. Peter Safran and James Wan both serve as producers. It received mixed reviews from critics but was generally perceived to be an improvement over the first Nun movie. The Conjuring franchise began in 2013 with James Wan’s The Conjuring, which starred Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren. Subsequent entries include 2014’s Annabelle, 2016’s The Conjuring 2, 2017’s Annabelle: Creation, 2018’s The Nun, 2019’s Annabelle Comes Home, and 2021’s The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
