December 19, 2019 - 13:33 GMT Danielle Stacey The Queen welcomed members of the royal family for her annual Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday – almost a whole week before the big day itself. There's a good reason for Her Majesty's early Christmas celebrations, as it's one of the rare occasions where her extended family can all be together in one place.

Among the guests at this year's lunch were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their three children, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Anne and husband Sir Tim Laurence, as well as Prince Andrew and the Earl and Countess of Wessex.
