Hollywood star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is joining a growing list of mega-celebrities who will be at or around the Rocky Mountain Showdown this weekend at Folsom Field.
ESPN analyst and podcaster Pat McAfee announced Thursday that Johnson, the football player/wrestler/actor, will join his show for its live broadcast at CU on Friday morning. McAfee said he expects guest appearances from Coach Prime, CU safety Shilo Sanders, Stephen A. Smith and former Broncos great Shannon Sharpe as well.
“They’re very focused,” new Fox Sports analyst and former Alabama Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram told The Post recently when asked about the No. 18 Buffs’ 2-0 start. “ on some plays that they left on the field . And I think that they’re just going to be motivated and I think they got the right coaching staff to keep them motivated and inspired.
Sanders and his squad have played the disrespect card like expert poker players over the first two weekends of the season, holding off TCU in a see-saw shootout and then drubbing an offensively challenged Nebraska by 22 points at home. But for the first time this month, the Buffs are favorites.
