So, for that group, anything goes. They’ve got to take risk, and they can’t afford to leave the debate stage the way they came in which is hovering at 1%.
Sanders is going to do the Sanders thing. Whether you agree with his socialist brand of politics or not, you cannot deny that the Vermont senator is consistent. He is not a candidate with a history of flip-flops. His weakness are largely the same as they were when he ran againstin 2016. The challenge for Sanders, however, is in differentiating himself from the progressives that will now be sharing the stage with him. Striking a contrast with Warren, in particular, will be key for Sanders.
