It wasn\u0027t only 10 weeks, but two years that T.J. Brunson had to wait before making an impact on the football field again
But waiting is nothing new to him. After a standout college career at the University of South Carolina, the Columbia, S.C. product was drafted by the New York Giants in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
“I tore my ACL first pre-season game, a couple drives in,” recalled Brunson. “After that happened, my biggest goal was to just get back on the field and that was the main focus every day, just get stronger, get better to make sure I was able to perform at a high level again.” Not long after though, Brunson was waived by the Giants on June 10, 2022. And while he was healthy and ready to play, he didn’t get another opportunity until the Riders called earlier this year, nearly 12 months after being released by New York.Article content
“Nothing happened so I just kept my foot on the pedal and waited to see what I could make happen or if there was another opportunity. definitely gave me that opportunity so I am forever thankful for it and just trying to keep stacking the days while I’m here.”
