Jonathan Van Ness's new book, 'Love That Story,' blends the 'Queer Eye' star's personal history with timely topics in a series of poignant essays.
“I hope it shows people who are new to me that there is a lot more to me than what you get onwho I am, but I’m also someone who cares about the wellness of people, health safety, racial justice, equity.”—he still loves it. “I think that we’re still doing really important work and highlighting people whose stories are just incredible and really universal,” he says. “There’s a lot of stories to be told.
With his personal struggles out in the open, Van Ness needed time to heal. He sought solace in his now husband,, his therapist, and supportive family and friends. “There was a part of me that really needed to be loved and nurtured because it was such an intense kind of process,” Van Ness says. He also found joy in being of service to others, gymnastics, gardening, and binge-watching TV.
