As of the site’s latest update on Wednesday afternoon, SMU was the final at-large team in the site’s projected field. The Mustangs appeared on 81 of 128 updated bracket projections. The first at-large team on the wrong side of the bubble -- the Atlantic 10′s VCU Rams -- appeared in 47 of the 128 projected fields.
The five at-large teams directly ahead of SMU and then five directly behind it are as follows: Miami , Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Xavier, Wyoming, Rutgers, VCU, Indiana, BYU, Dayton.
Here are three other games that could affect SMU’s position on the bubble, and which team Mustang fans should be pulling for on Wednesday.Xavier seemed like a sure thing to make the tournament a few weeks ago. But a first-round loss to Butler would mean six losses in Xavier’s last seven games and eight in its final 10.
