The 40-degree weather could abruptly drop into the 30s within an hour or so Friday as a major cold front moves through the area, forecasters said. Lows could drop to 11 degrees by Friday night and struggle to reach 20 Saturday, according to the NWS. Forecasters said frigid 20-degree weather is also expected Christmas Day.
