We chat with TwistedMetal star Thomas Haden Church about his character Agent Stone's motivations, the unique post-apocalyptic storytelling, and what drew him to the peacock show:
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Inspired by the wildly popular PlayStation games, Twisted Metal tells the story of John Doe, a quick-talking outsider who has no memory of his life before the world fell apart. Offered an opportunity for a better life, all John Doe needs to do is deliver a package across a vast post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Thomas Haden Church: Well, that's about as well as I could define it. He sees himself as only on the right side of law and order. Unfortunately, absolute power corrupts, and he does have a sort of corrupted vision of how to bring the divided states back together, and bring whatever law and order to mayhem, chaos, lawlessness, murder, and rampant drug abuse, all kinds of villainery.
This series is exploring the world in a way that we have never seen in Twisted Metal before. Can you talk to me about working with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who are incredible writers, and also Michael Jonathan Smith to kind of flesh out this character and this world a little bit?
