Heroes_4_hire_costumes shared the cosplay in an Instagram post. Shot at Baltimore Comic-Con 2023, the post opens with a video of the cosplayer walking into the convention in slow motion and carrying not only Mjolnir but the Stormbreaker ax as well. As the cosplayer majestically enters the convention, fans look on in awe of the comics-accurate costume. Then, in the next slide, Beta Ray Bill stands next to legendary artist Walt Simonson — the character's creator.
In the Instagram post, heroes_4_hire states they enjoy dressing up as Simonsons' creations and surprising them at cons. In previous years, heroes_4_hire dressed up as the notorious X-Men villain Apocalypse, who was created by the Simonson duo during their run on X-Factor in the mid-1980s. The Simonsons were delighted with the Apocalypse cosplay, and were equally thrilled with heroes_4_hire’s Beta Ray Bill outfit.
Walt Simonson Has Inspired Other Cosplay in the Past Given how amazing heroes_4_hire’s cosplay is, it is easy to see why the Simonsons liked it. It is highly detailed, complete with muscles as well as the flourishes that set Bill’s costume apart from Thor’s. Heroes_4_hire’s cosplay also has awesome weapon choices in both Mjolnir and the Stormbreaker ax. There were a number of amazing cosplays at Baltimore Comic Con, and heroes_4_hire’s Beta Ray Bill stands above the rest.
