Thousands march in Chile’s Santiago to demand improved social services after two major international summits were cancelled due to violent protests
Demonstrators are sprayed by riot police water canons during a protest against Chile's government in Concepcion, Chile October 31, 2019.
"I think there's a fatigue factor. People are now more than 10 days into coming to protest every day, most from the outskirts of Santiago," said José Solís, a psychology student. Santiago's metro system has said it suffered $380 million in damages, while an association of major supermarkets said its members had suffered $1.3 billion in damages from looting, and lost sales.
