The area closer to Africa is a broad area of low pressure and is located a few hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands. Environmental conditions appear somewhat favorable for gradual development over the next several days. The National Hurricane Center has given this area a low chance of developing into a tropical depression as it moves west-northwestward.
A bit farther west, some development of a small area of low pressure is possible as it drifts westward into next week. The NHC has given this area a low chance of development. The third area is a disturbance over the west-central tropical Atlantic. This disturbance remains disorganized and significant development is not expected. Regardless of development, parts of the Lesser Antilles will likely experience gusty winds, showers and thunderstorms early next week.
