Waller was on the Giants injury report this week with a hamstring strain.
New York Giants tight end Darren Waller, who has a history of hamstring issues, has been ruled out of the team's Week 8 game against the New York Jets with a hamstring injury.
Waller, who caught one of his two targets for four yards, seemed to come up lame after making a four-yard catch on the Giants' fifth possession in which Waller came up one yard shy of the first down. Kicker Graham Gano missed the ensuing 47-yard field goal attempt, leaving the score 7-3 with three minutes gone in the second quarter.
Waller, who was listed as questionable on the Giants' injury report, was deemed healthy enough to where New York didn't bother to elevate tight end Lawrence Cager off the practice squad. Now, with Waller being declared out, the Giants are down to just one pure tight end, Daniel Belligner, on their roster.
