Touching base: Connor Hollis leads potent San Antonio bats in series win against Corpus Christi

Hollis hit .522 for the series with a .645 on-base percentage, becoming the first Missions player this year to earn Texas League Player of the Week honors. Hollis quickly became the Missions’ most consistent starter at third base, but he entered last week hitting .203 for the season, with 13 hits and nine walks in 19 games. During the six-game set against Corpus Christi, Hollis erupted for 12 hits and seven walks, raising his average for the year to .287.Missions bats around the lineup thrived against Hooks pitching, as San Antonio drew 51 walks for the week — nine more than any other team in the minor leagues.
Lawson lasted just two innings in his Saturday start, giving up three runs on three hits and four walks with a homer. He has thrown 10 innings in four starts this season, going 0-3 with a 13.50 ERA.
