The USTR called the reports of the rollback as “another example of reporting on an important alleged event based on secret sources, some of which may have obvious bias.”... [+]Any reporting of a tariff rollback would be seen as weakness among Trump advocates in the financial markets. Dan DiMicco, ex-CEO of Nucor Steel, told Bloomberg that Lighthizer is the driver of the Trump trade agenda. “Without him none of this would be possible,” he said.
