Workers and their unions gear to 'block' France to protest for the sixth time against the government's proposed pension reform plan
French President Emmanuel Macron is facing his biggest standoff with France's trade unions since coming to power in 2017.
Unions have vowed to bring the country to a standstill over the proposed changes, which include raising the minimum retirement age to 64 from 62 and increasing the number of years people have to make contributions for a full pension. Commuters packed into one of the rare trains heading for Paris from the southern suburbs before dawn. The government encouraged people to work from home if their jobs allow.
