Sixteen teams participated in the downtown community's Labor Day Stickball Tournament, which took over three busy blocks

Ortiz started the San Diego Knights stickball team. On Saturday, there were four teams from New York and two from Florida. Fernandez saidthe Empire State teams were certainly the loudest and probably the most passionate. A major feature of the game is trash talking, and the New Yorkers seemed to have the edge.
Traffic was at a near stop around the game on Columbia Street, and a lot of confused pedestrians were asking what was going on. Anri Rogers, 27, was out for a walk with her boyfriend when she suggested they stop and watch.
